Wild tulip - Tulipa sylvestris
Lying amongst the buttercups on the floor of the Piano Grande I photographed these wild tulips with the Monti Sibilini mountain range in the background. For me they are as beautiful as any garden variety of tulip, with the delicate flower of red outer petals and yellow centres.
The profusion of wild flowers also included narcissi, mountain pansy, and several unidentified species!

I might have tried to avoid the yellow bud in the bottom left corner... I find it a tad distractive for the rest of the image. Just a thought...
